Verse of the Day

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” — Romans 12:4-5 Listen to chapter Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica. Powered by

What Does The Bible Say To The Believer?

Do you ever have questions about what does it mean exactly to be a follower of Jesus Christ? Like, what happens when you receive Christ? What should your daily relationship with God look like? How does God expect for you to relate to others? What God expects of you What you must do to overcome trials, suffering,  temptation & sin?  What your duty is to the Church?

Join us Sunday mornings at 9:00 am in the Fellowship Hall for Adult Sunday School as we discuss what the Bible says to the believer.

What Are You Building Your Life On?

There is only a short window in a student’s life to lay a foundation that will last a lifetime. What we know about God shapes the way we think and live. If we get it wrong then our whole life will be wrong.

In this youth Bible study, students share the honest doubts and struggles they have about their own faith. Dug Down Deep uses Scripture to challenge students to root their faith in the life and words of Jesus.

Join us Sunday mornings at 9:00 am in the Youth Classroom for food, fellowship and fun!

Pastor and First Lady
Senior Pastor and First Lady:
Drs. Earnest and Pat Jordan

Dr. Earnest Jordan and his wife Dr. Pat Jordan founded Rock Of Hope City Church (ROHCC) in 1995 with one sole purpose. That is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way turns that  non-Christians into converts, converts into disciples, and disciples into mature, fruitful leaders who will in turn go into the world and reach others for Christ. ROHCC uniquely knows no barriers when it comes to reaching people for Jesus.

At ROHCC, we are communicating the Gospel in contemporary ways that reach the heart. We are a community of Biblically functioning believers in healthy relationships with one another. Here you can discover the joy of being a fully contributing member and join the rest of us in partnering with Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit to reach others for Him.

Our mission and vision at Rock of Hope City Church is  “To fulfill the heart of God for our community by spreading the gospel, making disciples of Jesus Christ and developing Biblically sound leaders.”

Becoming a follower of Jesus Christ involves sharing the gospel, a message of love, hope, redemption and relationship with God. The Bible tells us that God’s great love for mankind was demonstrated in that He gave His one and only Son Jesus and that no one should be excluded from hearing the gospel message. Jesus confirmed this when He said,
“Go into all of the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15 (NIV)
In fulfilling this great command, we endeavor to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ both domestically and abroad. Rock of Hope regularly supports foreign missions and encourages world-wide evangelism. In doing so we are fulfilling the heart of God that not one person be left out from hearing the message of the gospel of peace.

One of the most important ministries at ROHCC is our attempt to illustrate the love of Christ to the people in our
community.  To do this we have several neighborhood outreaches that include annual events such as an Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation
Bible School, Harvest Festival, Back To School Night, Christmas Outreach, and our Annual Chocolate Delight. ROHCC also supports many community events that help promote a sense of unity in our community. These include: Serve Our Stockton and National Night Out.

Becoming a Christian involves the acceptance of Jesus Christ’s forgiveness of our sins, which is based on His grace rather than our worthiness or deeds. A Christian makes a profession of faith in Jesus as Lord. However, Jesus instructed us to become more than forgiven and professing Christians when He said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me” (Mark 8:34, NLT).

We are to become disciples, devoted followers of Jesus. A disciple endeavors to live according to Christ’s teachings and to serve as His ambassador. The first component of our mission is in obedience to Jesus’ command to “go and make disciples of all nations”(Matthew 28:19, NLT).

Every cause or enterprise requires leadership. From the history of Israel in the Old Testament, to nations and corporations, and to churches, leadership is fundamental to mission fulfillment. Exemplary leaders may sometimes seem to just appear without preparation; however, the norm is for some developmental process to occur that equips leaders for service.
Our quest is equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12, NLT).
In partnership with the Holy Spirit we identify, train/develop, coach, and channel leaders into service. The discipline of development pays off handsomely, for it’s the well-trained who find themselves mature in their relationship with God (Hebrews 12:11, MSG).

One of our goals at Rock of Hope City Church is to experience and express the gospel of Jesus together. With that in mind, we have several ongoing mercy and service partnerships in our church, community, culture, and world. Read about them here, and if you’d like to get involved, contact us below and we’ll help you get started. We are better together!
